MS, RD, CDN, RYT-200
Maddy Hughes (she/her) is a Registered Dietitian, New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist, and Registered Yoga Instructor. She received her BS in Nutrition Dietetics from Auburn University, and earned her MS at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Maddy believes healing happens when we are able to build curiosity and trust with ourselves and our bodies. She approaches her clients with the understanding that they are the ultimate experts on themselves, while offering evidence-based, individualized guidance along the way.
Her approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and informed by Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size, and Mindfulness. Maddy is passionate about supporting clients as they move towards their own unique version of integrated and embodied living. She also loves helping clients find joy in movement and strengthen their mind-body connection.
While Maddy enjoys working with all variations of disordered eating and eating disorders, she holds particular interests in binge eating disorder as well as the intersection of eating disorders and substance use disorders. Maddy also enjoys supporting clients within the Asian American community. She believes that with access to quality support, a healed relationship with food and body is possible for everyone.
Maddy has spent her career working with clients across the disordered eating spectrum and in all levels of eating disorder care, from outpatient to residential programs. She believes holding a safe container for clients is one of the most important interventions as a provider. She also believes in taking a solutions-focused approach and inviting her clients to practice sitting in discomfort as a means to growth and positive change.
In her free time, Maddy enjoys reading, going on plant walks, and sharing food and laughter with friends and family.
